Marcelo Naves has been a harmonica player for over 25 years, and is considered one of the greatest Blues harmonica players in Brazil, and among the greatest in the world. His style was compared to the great old school harmonica players of Chicago. He performed alongside great Blues names such as Deacon Jones, Mud Morganfield, Diunna Greenleaf, Demetria Taylor, Tia Carrol, Lorenzo Thompson, Jimmy Burns, R.J.Mischo, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Sugar Ray RayFord, Michael Dotson, James Weller, Eddie C. Campbell, Walace Colleman, Kenny Brown, Junior Watson, Mitch Kashmar, Aki Kumar, James "Super Chikan" Johnson, Taryn Donath, Jerry Portnoy, Rick Estrin, Kid Andersen, Billy Branch, Nuno Mindelis, among others. In March 2009 he released the CD Marcelo Naves & Os Maquinistas do Blues, entitled “Minha Gaita é meu Patrão” (My Harp is my boss), and in the same year the acoustic DVD “Lendas do Blues” (Blues legends), with the duo Marcelo Naves & Danilo Simi. In 2011 he toured Mexico, with 11 shows in the cities of Salvatierra, Tethiuacan, Guadalajarra and Mexico City at the 5th Encuentro Internacional de Blues festival, releasing his second CD, entitled “Blues Alive”, in partnership with Danilo Simi.
He is the creator of the 1st harmonica method for children in Brazil and one of the most modern OnLine harmonica methods in the country, which is a great success among instrument lovers.
With a class "A" team Naves formed the incredible band The Tigermen, and they are recording the new album "Fourty Cups of Coffee" with special participation of Aki Kumar (Mumbai / India), Tia Carrol (San Jose / USA) and Diunna Greenleaf (Texas / USA), scheduled for release in MAY 2023.
Naves is also a harmonica player for the Texan singer Diunna Greenleaf, and has been touring around the world with her, the most recent being at the Lucerne Blues Festival in Switzerland, with incredible shows during 11 days of tour.
