There has long been a special bond between HOHNER and the musicians who choose to play our brand. From the development stage onwards, the original HOHNER sound has always been created in close cooperation with leading artists, which is why stars such as Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Matt Hensley or Howard Levy have always known they can depend on it. Reason enough for HOHNER to make this lasting connection the central focus of our promotional activities in 2018 with the new campaign “Play the Original”. Parallel to the NAMM Show (January 25th - 28th 2018), the leading international trade fair in the musical instrument sector, we are launching the campaign in the most important markets worldwide and will follow it up throughout the year.
Play the Original artists as different as as Johnny Kongos (KONGOS), Solveig Heilo (Katzenjammer), Steve Baker or Los Tigres del Norte cover a wide musical spectrum ranging from pop to blues to Norteño and beyond. What they all have in common, however, is their passion for their music, their individual style and their deep connection to their HOHNER instrument. That really does make them absolute originals!
Alongside print ads, online promotion and product videos, the artists and their instruments will also be brought into stronger focus through promotional activities in the retail sector. In addition, an Instagram competition offers hobby musicians the chance to make their musical contributions part of the campaign.
