On May 6, 2022 I provided a Hohner sponsored Harmonikids session to a middle school class of special education students in Salado, Texas. In spite of their many diverse obstacles to learning, all students were fully engaged throughout the 90 minute session. They giggled with joy and astonishment as I entertained them. Then each was thrilled as I gently taught them to accurately play four songs on their new Hohner harmonicas. Harmonikids programs gently lead youth such as these into the exciting world of making music while joyfully boosting their confidence and self esteem. Teacher Leslie Allen relates how Harmonikids made a positive difference below.
